The Interfaith Center of USA scheduled Global Buddhist Summit 2020 for Buddhists to contribute to world peace on Monday, September 21 from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm (India/Nepal time) or 7:00 am-9:00 am (New York time/Eastern time). This program was open to anyone interested in the topic “How Buddhist Communities can Engage in Global Action During the Pandemic?”
The program included various speakers from different traditions of Buddhism, interfaith prayer for peace and peace music, and more. They gathered to confirm the importance of peace and take steps of action for a peaceful world. The guests were from all over the globe, including Professor Dr. Nnin Hnin Aye, Dr. Lydia Brown, Dr. Christie Chang, Ven. Ajahin Prashil Ratana Gautam, Sonia Gomes, Ven. Burin Thita Kusalo, Dr. Kenneth Liao, James Lynch, Dr. Piya Ratna Maharjan, Rev. Dr. TK Nakagaki, Most Venerable Dr. Pornchai Palawadhammo, Rev. Doyeon Park, Professor Dr. Milan Ratna Shakya, Ven, Dr. Sobhita, Rev. Danjo Soken, Mr. Sherab Wong, and Dr. Lye Ket Yong (alphabetical order).
